Teaching, Public Outreach, and Museums
In this section I detail my teaching experience, workshops I have led, students I have mentored or co-supervised, additional training & certifications I have received, the multiple in-person and online public outreach / informal learning programs I have been involved with, and my experience in exhibit development and collections management in natural history museums.
As a scientist, I feel it is important to not only to perform research, but to ensure that knowledge is effectively taught to students and communicated to the broader public. My association with major natural history museums throughout my career, both as a graduate student and now as a professional scientist, has afforded me a wide variety of opportunities to hone my skills as both an academic educator, as well as my abilities to effectively communicate research information in a form accessible to a much wider audience.
Below are links to pages detailing my specific experiences with teaching, public engagement, and museums.
